Goodbye McCarthy's- Part 1

So, I've been here for four months and my original partner in crime is and her husband have decided to move back to Denver.  Boo.

Amanda and I haven't lived in the same town since college (and we lived together the whole 4.5 years), so it was so nice to have my best friend since 2nd grade right down the road again after all these years.

Of course, we decided to make this a two week celebration, so we headed to Stephan Pyles for a dinner with just the four of us.  We went over to their house first and had a little cheese and an amazing bottle of champagne to get the party started.

Then, we jumped on the trolley and headed down the road to dinner.

Dinner was AMAZING!  I decided to go with a Stuffed Chicken (because why would I choose anything else but chicken?!).  Everyone made fun of me for ordering so plain... but the joke was on them.  It was the Best. Chicken. Of. My. Life.  SO GOOD!!!

We decided to take a few more pics (shocker, I know).

We then jumped back on the trolley and headed to a new, fun bar in West Village- I was so tired by that point! It might have been the THREE bottles of wine we had at dinner- ha!  : )

It was such a fun night and we still have the official going away party next weekend!  We'll sure miss you, McCarthy's!!! Can't wait for our summer trip to Vail!

Valentine's Day with My Love

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!  Blake took me out to a nice dinner on Saturday night and we have another super nice dinner with Amanda and Rory before their big move to Denver on Friday (so excited- we get to dress up!), so I decided to make a nice dinner for Blake on the actual holiday.

I realized last week that Blake and I had never actually had dinner at my new table- we always eat in front of the TV (bad, I know), but we always want to hurry and get The Bachelor or American Idol started!  : )

So, I decided to geek out and set the table all fancy for Blake:

We started the night with a little bruschetta for an appetizer- I didn't really follow a recipe.  I just cut up some Roma tomatoes, threw in some fresh basil, garlic, Balsamic vinegar and called it a day.
We then sat down to dinner, where we had Caesar salad and Pioneer Woman's Lasagna (which was yummy)!
It ended up being such a quite, sweet Valentine's Day.  I am so blessed to get to spend it with the cute man I got to spend it with!

We have a big weekend planned with our fancy dinner, then Aaron's 30th birthday party on Saturday night.  I'm sure another blog post will be following soon (I promise I'll be better).

Hope you all felt as loved as I did!  xoxo
